The emergency heat kit fits in your central heating and cooling system, or a Air Handling Unit (AHU) to provide heat in case there is an issue with the standard heat, be it gas, propane, or heat pump. The emergency heat kit will kick on in the even of issues with the main system, or can be manually turned on to provide supplemental heat if the main system is not able to keep up with extreme cold temperatures.

While not as efficient as a heat pump system, the emergency heat kit does provide a simple backup option when all other options fail. As long as you still have power, then you will be able to keep the house at a livable temperature which can literally mean the difference between life and death for some animals, lots of plants, and some of the more climate sensitive elderly individuals who might be in your care!
