A zone is typically a single bedroom, living room, or kitchen, but can also be a grouping of rooms with similar functions such as a laundry room or walk-in closet. Each zone's indoor evaporator unit's capacity will be based on the square footage of the zone and several other factors which may include ceiling height, number of windows and doors, and or significant sources of additional heat.
